iheartf2p def my aoty from 2023. Extreme, almost proggy metal with some of the most topical lyricism in this post 2020 world. Beautiful, modulated vocals help paint a very bleak world, with the sing song nature of the choruses in a lot of the tracks making them undenyingly fun sing-a-longs. But those guitars , bass, DRUMS...all mixed to BRUTAL perfection. An instant classic, and better than like 80% of all previous metal ever recorded, even CD's previous efforts. Favorite track: Just Another Body.

As modern CC albums go, this one's a grower, not a shower. But there's a lot to like in the unbeatable CC combination of ferocious performances, twisting riffs, and precise, intentional songwriting. Erik Rutan really comes into his own with atmospheric lead work, and his songs "Blood Blind" and "Drain You Empty", especially the epic doom intro of the latter, are highlights. fyeahmetal
